Abstract The increasing number of space missions have resulted in an augmented density artificial objects positioned orbital domains near Earth. Knowing the material composition resident object can be value identification and risk assessment using remote sensing techniques. To perform this task, it is increasingly imperative to optically characterize spacecraft materials identify unique material-specific spectroscopic markers. In work, a variety frequently utilized by aerospace industry design construction were analyzed reflectance spectroscopy. collected data provide spectral characterization baseline for modern-day historical materials. color index was computed standard astronomical suggested theoretical filter passbands compared each other their capability discriminate belonging different classes. calculated from spectra common pristine, as-received conditions that fell under family groupings. Different color-index combinations studied color-color diagrams. Visual quantitative analysis diagrams used evaluate possibility discriminating one another means optical measurements.
